Frequently Asked Questions

(1) Tell me more about China?
China, a land of beauty and fascination, tempts adventurous travelers all over the world. It is a massive country, covering 6,000,000 square miles and spanning 60 longitudinal degrees. It has an infinite variety of people, enchanting natural landscape, brilliant history and culture and fascinating destinations that a visitor tends to be as bewildered as bewitched. (2) What kind of teaching positions are available?
We have teaching English positions available in the Shandong Province, China and you can teach the English language at either a secondary school or university. There are opportunities to teach other subjects as well depending on your experience and availability.

(3) What courses am I required to teach?
At the university or college you may be asked to choose and teach some of the following courses: English & American literature, linguistics, reading, composition/writing, grammar, general survey of western cultures, conversational English and English for Special Purposes such as business English. There are universities that need teachers to teach more specialized subjects such as accounting, international marketing and law and so on.
For teaching in any Chinese secondary school, you are mainly required to teach Conversational English, focusing on listening comprehension and speaking ability.

(4) How much do I get paid?
You are paid a Chinese teachers salary of: 2,200 - 4,000 RMB (265 - 480 USD's) per month depending on skills and experience.

(5) What happens once I apply?
Upon receipt of the application form, we will request a copy of your resume/CV (if you have not already provided it). After receiving the resume we will contact our office in China to assess your suitability for a position. If you are successful we will then email you a letter of preliminary acceptance. Once the application fee is paid and the school is ready to offer you the position. You will need to provide the following documents: comprar c i a l i s 5 mg

Please note that your full acceptance is subject to you paying the placement fee.

(6) Are the fees refundable?
Yes, we will refund your application fee if you decide not to go.

(7) Tell me more about the accommodation?
Your accommodation will most likely be in a private apartment on campus with a bedroom, bathroom with shower, a kitchen and a waiting room with basic daily living facilities such as air-conditioner, TV, phone, freezer, washing machine, tables and chairs and so on.

(8) Do I have to be from New Zealand?
No, volunteers can also come from Australia, Canada, Ireland, South Africa, UK, USA and Europe. If you do not come from any of these countries I suggest you check out one of our other programs.

(9) What age do you have to be to apply?
You must be 18 years old and above. You also need to be in good health.

(10) Do you provide any financial support?
We unfortunately are not in a position to offer any financial support. You may want to consider enrolling in a later program to allow enough time to save the funds required.

(11) What immunizations/vaccines will I need?
We advise that you consult your doctor about this.

(12) When do I need to arrive in China?
Successful applicants are required to arrive a few days before the start of each semester in order to recover from jetlag and prepare for teaching. The exact arrival date is subject to the final discussion with the Chinese employer.

(13) Are the fees and expenses tax deductible?
No, we are only registered as an organization in New Zealand.

(14) Do I need travel insurance?
We recommend that you take out travel insurance which also includes medical or health insurance as part of the deal.

(15) Who organizes my flights?
You do. Once you have paid your placement fee, We will send you the link to our 20 page program guide which includes links to discount travel sites.

(16) Who organizes my visa for teaching position?
While the school will issue the contract of employment and prepare the documentation as well as the invitation for working visa of Z (expert) category, it is up to you to apply to the nearby Chinese Embassy/Consulate to submit the application papers for visa.
